How to read a Black Friday price in Zimbabwe

Published 7 October 2026

Black Friday in Zimbabwe is Friday 27 November in 2026. The banners start earlier. Some of them are useful. Some of them are last month’s price with a red sticker and a new font.

Three different numbers

A receipt price is what a shop will sell you today. A target on Black Friday ZW is the number we are trying to negotiate with suppliers. A secured price is a number a verified supplier has committed, and only then do we say “price secured”.

Comparing a target with a shop receipt makes the target look magical and the shop look expensive, or the other way around. Compare like with like.

What to ask in a shop

  • Is this the price if I pay today, in USD, by EcoCash or card?
  • Does the box include a charger, a remote, or a stand?
  • What is the warranty, and who honours it in Harare or Bulawayo?
  • Is the “was” price from this shop, this month?

If the answer to the last question is a shrug, treat the discount as decoration.

Purchase credit

The fee comes off the price. It does not confirm stock.

Worked example for a $99 target, a $5 booking fee and a $4 Harare delivery estimate. These are not a supplier quote. Your booking uses the target and fee printed on that product, and the delivery fee locked for your city.

Target price$99.00
Booking fee, later applied as credit− $5.00
Goods still due$94.00
Delivery estimate+ $4.00
Still to pay if allocated$98.00

Priority is written only after Paynow verifies the booking fee. A larger or later payment does not jump the queue. If a supplier cannot fulfil, the refund rules on the booking policy apply.

Briefing

Ask a person about a list.

This opens a support ticket. It does not create a booking, it does not take a payment, and it does not reserve a place in the queue.

Booking fee per unit becomes purchase credit after Paynow verifies it. A quick look is not a booking and not confirmed stock.
